Author's Notes: I don't wish to scare off gen or slash readers. My slash is very tame and this 'verse hopes all readers--slash, gen, and otherwise--will find the relationship between all three boys very supportive and caring.
Beta: All mistakes are mine.
Summary: Part of 3 Kings 'verse, elaborating on events prior to the main story in We Three Kings. Dean finally confronts Sam about stealing from him and Cas.

Follow the cut:

Dean knew that was coming. He'd known this conversation was coming. It didn't mean he was any more eager to have it.

Awww - it breaks my heart to see Sam so... so... so.. I don't even have a word for it but perhaps 'unlikeable' will do. I haven't read the other stories in this verse (and possibly won't because I adore Sam and it hurts to read him being such an ass - so please don't be offended because it seems to be a very thriving AU)and while my heart goes out for the horrible position this places Dean - and Cas by loving Dean - in, I want to feel sympathy and likeableness for Sam but don't. He is trouble and it makes me wonder why Dean does try so hard. Yeah, Sam is blood but is that really enough? Cas had a good point, when Sam is high he isn't Dean's brother.

Very innovative situation and well written. I don't enjoy Cas/Dean slash but it is sublte enough here that I could read it :)
